About Wollemi

Wollemi explores the combination of fire imagery, the abstract patterns formed by smoke, and the mountains around Singleton as a geological representation of Wonnarua Country. Kez used RED to express the intensity of heat, GREY to represent drifting smoke, and Azure Blue to reflect regrowth and the eucalyptus-covered mountains. 

The print is grounded in strong line art inspired by the traditional Wonnarua rock engravings. Kez incorporated the ochre mouth‑spray technique to build natural texture
across the work.

The mountains shaped the movement of the piece, guiding how the lines, colours, and smoke‑like forms interacted.

By combining fire imagery, abstraction, mountain forms, engraving‑inspired linework, and ochre practices, a visual language is created that stays grounded in Country while pushing into a bold, contemporary interpretation of the Bushfire.

From Singleton, NSW, Kez is a Wonnarua digital artist with strong ties to mob and Country. Her work brings together contemporary digital design, illustrations and cultural expression. She loves creating art. KEZ has designed several prints for the "Scorched Lines" collection as well as woven accessories.
